West is Best, East is Eastory
Have you ever heard someone say, “Well, of course the West has a higher carbon footprint, they’re more developed”? As if being more technologically advanced automatically means you have to pollute more?
Well, I’m here to tell you that this just isn’t true. In fact, there are plenty of countries in the East that have a lower carbon footprint, despite being less “developed” by Western standards.
Take India for example. They may not have the same level of industrialization as some Western countries, but they have a centuries-old tradition of living sustainably. Yoga, a practice that has gained immense popularity in the West, actually originated in India and is all about finding balance and harmony with nature. And let’s not forget about the growing trend of veganism, which has roots in Eastern philosophy.
So the next time someone tries to tell you that the West is just inherently more environmentally conscious, remember that it’s not about being “advanced,” it’s about lifestyle choices and cultural practices. And let’s give credit where credit is due — some countries in the East are already ahead of the game when it comes to sustainability.
