There is no moral high ground in this world anymore and you know it!
Once upon a time, I wanted to come to the USA- the land of the free, back then I thought the world was in two sides one that was evil, corrupt and autocratic- the Russia-inspired part of the world. And then the fairy tale land, where no one was evil, no one was corrupt and everyone valued democracy- the US-led block of the west. And it was easy to see the moral light shine through- the west was trying to instil the goodness of the world. With the birth of the United Nations, I know many celebrated its creation. Thinking that it would finally bring peace and justice to everyone.
There was the hope of a better world a vision that the west could bring the rest of the world out of poverty and illness and cure its many problems. Because the west cared because the west was enlightened. And although you may criticise me for being too naive I must tell you that there is a reason we want a moral high ground in this world. It is to make sure we can strive to be better than ourselves. And it's not always true what we believe, the west more certainly wasn't enlightened, it just appeared so. And yet it was important to know that there was someone who would take on the evil of the world.
But alas, that day is gone the unfolding cruelty of the west with rigid policy for the immigrants, the horrible atrocity and crimes…
