Should We Let Elon Musk Buy Twitter?
Democracy of the right, by the rich for the rich!
Why shouldn't we? That guy has done incredible good for the planet and continues to do so. His heart is in the right place
So why shouldn't we let him buy Twitter?
Well for starters what does he mean when he says he wants to unleash its potential?
Does he mean he wants to make social media safer?
Its true social media has become an incredibly dark place, you have violence erupting and populism taking hold everywhere, and bubbles are being created wherein its echo chamber your views become more and more extreme!
We must realise how much social media is destroying the fabric of our society! It's driving our democracies to ruin. Yet it can have a profound impact if we can find a way to dismantle hate speech if we find a way to combat negativity.
I believe in Elon so far at least more than the owners of Facebook and Twitter.
But what I fear and I am sure many shares this concern is are we turning into a plutocratic society. Where rich has a say in everything?
This concerns me too, but here is the thing we are already in a plutocratic society especially when you talk about society in social media, our thoughts are being monitored, our data is mined we are targets by the advertisers. Maybe we can have better plutocrats at least?
