What is reality?

I am more and more certain it is not what it seems. Many philosophers tried to divine the meaning of what it means to be real and if we are real or not.

Descartes sort-of proved it by saying “ Cogito ergo sum”- I think therefore I am. Which is a mathematical proof (sort of) on how we can say reality. The idea is based on the fact that because we cannot deny the existence of thoughts without thinking(funny guy) our thoughts must be real. And since our thoughts are real we must be really thinking beings.

And we have proof that we are thinking beings. Sort-of.

Later we would have Hume and the empiricist talking about the nature of things. How you might taste different things in an apple than me, we might never know. Or how we can see different things when we see colour. And our experiences are our own subjective reality. Living us in a state of vertigo again.

Empiricists say well experience is prior to existence. This can say well we exist therefore we can think, but we can think different things based on what we experience. And what we experience is subjective. We will never know. So we are in a loop.
