But how can you make sure the data and information you are putting out there are managed by you and the freedom of expression are saved?
Well, the secret recipe is capitalism. Studies have shown markets are better at making information available. The way we can save the dirty world of social media is to make content money-making machines.
How do we do it?
We have to treat everything you say as a commodity. And that commodity must have value. But if you are not directly earning from it.
You see most mediums use you as their commodity, be it newspapers to social media. Always remember the rule, if it's free you are the product. So how do we switch from being a product to being the producer?
Well, it's simple really we have to agree(come to a consensus) that our posts have value. And that value can be safely stowed in the blockchain. We can make a currency we earn every time we produce something. To make sure we are getting the best out of the currency we must upvote/downvote good pieces of writing as compared to just random pieces.
We can start with a few coins of our own. And then use this as a betting resource. We can place bets on information that is more correct or that has a literary value. We can place values on the contents that are created and not shared(unless royalty-free).
We have to make sure our writing and information put out there is value-based. It will actually create a better flow of information and save the planet.
