Gender Identity

I want to talk about this because I think not enough is still being done to work on this issue.

Gender is a social construct. There could be as many genders as the rainbow colours. It is not such a hard concept to grasp once you understand that gender is a spectrum. It is not a binary concept. At one end of the spectrum sits the cis-male on the other sits the cis-female. But there are no cis genders to be precise. Everyone is a bit of the other. You can only be partially at one end of the spectrum.

Why are there so many troubles with labels then? Well, that's ‘society’ for you, it is a big bully that sits to dominate through creating predictable mass-produced copies. It has always been against individuals and assertion of the individual identity, be it about race, colour, creed or sexuality.

What can we do to fight this be an ally- be supportive of people expressing themselves, don't assume or judge, reduce your biases as much as possible. To be honest, being an ally means being compassionate to another. But I want to go one step further I think we should learn to celebrate our differences and that would create a beautiful world for us all.

Cheers to Diversity!

Celebrate Diversity!
