Communication is Evolving and But does that mean everyone gets their say? 🌐🗣️

When I was ten years old, I received a couple of encyclopaedia in the form of a CD, DK multimedia’s space and universe, earth and rocks some other really cool encyclopaedias about dinosaurs.

While they were amazing tools to learn, what my ten year old mind couldn’t figure our was over the CD on the side it was written “For sale in North America Only”. I wondered why does it matter if I learn this not being an American. Wasn’t knowledge and advancements for the common good, for all of humanity?

Weren’t technologies supposed to enhance our access? The encyclopedias were the medium that was supposed to make access better for knowledge by making knowledge interactive and fun. So why was its distribution locked?

The world is undergoing a massive transformation largely driven by AI that is transforming every single field from research to education, but what I want to talk about is transforming communication and how a few are controling who gets to say what. But from all the doom and gloom I also want to talk about how we can make it better.
